The Elephant Camp - Luxury Safari Lodge at Victoria Falls

The Elephant Camp stands on a private ridge above the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, looking out across the Batoka Gorge, the Victoria Falls Bridge and the distant spray of the Falls. Sixteen suites are set across Main Camp and Camp West – twelve Standard Luxury Suites and four Family Suites – each with its own private plunge pool, an outdoor shower and a deck that opens onto the wilderness. The days unfold gently: game drives in the Zambezi National Park, unhurried time with the resident elephant herd, a guided walk along the Falls, and long evenings on the deck as the bush settles into dusk.

Small and intimate by design, the camp is bound with the land around it. Every stay supports the work of the sanctuary – the anti-poaching teams, the elephant welfare programme, and the partnerships that connect the lodge to the wildlife and communities of Victoria Falls.

Views of the Falls & Batoka Gorge

The main deck, the dining area and every suite look out toward the Batoka Gorge and the spray of Victoria Falls in the distance. The Falls spray rises to the south, the gorge sits along the horizon, and the wilderness of the sanctuary lies between.

Guests observing or near the elephant herd in the sanctuary — natural behaviour, unposed, respectful distance. Avoid any imagery suggesting riding or performance.

Inside the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuar

The Elephant Camp sits inside a private concession on the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary. Wildlife moves freely through the property – elephants, kudu, impala, warthog, baboon. Game drives leave directly from camp into the wider Zambezi National Park.

Conservation at the Centre of the Stay

Conservation isn’t a side note here – it shapes how the camp runs. Wild Horizons is a Travelife Partner and a Fair Trade Tourism approved operator, and every stay helps sustain the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary: its anti-poaching team, its elephant welfare programme, and the community partnerships around Victoria Falls, including the Wild Horizons partnership with UNICEF Zimbabwe.

These upscale “tent styled” bungalows are complete with large living space, comfortable beds, separate bathroom and even a private swimming pool. The food is excellent and well prepared with fresh local products and fully stocked bar. The service is impeccable and I highly recommend this resort!
