  • When: Seasonal (depending on water levels)
  • What to Wear:
    • Swimsuit and shorts/cycling shorts (avoid loose items that can be lost in water)
    • A T-shirt or long-sleeved shirt for sun protection
    • Sturdy shoes/trainers or rafting shoes (no flip-flops)
    • A peak cap that fits comfortably under your helmet
    • Sunscreen and lip balm (guides will carry a dry bag)
    • Wet suits (provided during winter months)
    • Secure glasses to avoid loss
    • Description: Take on what’s considered some of the wildest white water in the world. Rafting the Zambezi River is an adrenaline-pumping adventure through officially graded Class V rapids (with Grade VI being commercially unrunnable). This is a demanding activity that requires a reasonable level of fitness, with steep descents into and out of the Batoka Gorge in addition to the rafting itself. The gorge drops over 100 meters deep at Victoria Falls, reaching over 200 meters further downstream. Despite the rugged terrain, the gorge is rich with vegetation and offers truly spectacular scenery.
