Our transfers to and from Botswana are operated at pre-scheduled times and the journey from the Sun International properties (Livingstone, Zambia) to Kasane via the Kazungula Ferry crossing is approximately 1½ hours. If clients wish to travel at an unscheduled time, the transfer will be treated as “private” and will be charged at a minimum of 4 persons.
Kazungula Ferry Crossing For all Zambian – Botswana transfers, clients are ferried across the Zambezi River by small speed boat to the Botswana river bank where they are met by 4×4 Game Drive vehicles that transfer the clients to their final destination.

Please note: Clients will need their Passports and where necessary, a Visa to enter Botswana. The clients Visa must be purchased in advance from a Botswana High Commission and Visa fees are not included in our transfer rates.
All our transfers are conducted in Mini Buses and/or Coaches and/or 4×4 Game Viewing Vehicles. Our Guide will personally meet your clients with name board that clearly states the client’s name/s. On their journey to town they are given a brief but informative commentary on the area, places to visit and items of special interest.
On arrival clients are given a Welcome letter containing Wild Horizons contact details and details of all services booked with us.

Wild Horizons is here to make your border crossing as simple and hassle free as possible. You can expect to have Wild Horizons staff accompanying you at all times and they will assist you in any possible way. Wild Horizons has a representative based at each border post. Wild Horizons staff are all very experienced at crossing these borders, however, the border posts are not under the jurisdiction of Wild Horizons, and as a result you may on occasion experience some of the scenarios laid out below.
ZIMBABWE – BOTSWANA

When crossing from Zimbabwe to Botswana you will change from a Wild Horizons coach to an open 4×4 game viewing vehicle. This will be branded African Odyssey.
You may need to walk a short way with your bags to change vehicles
On the Botswana side you will be required to step on a treated mat for foot and mouth disease control. The officials may also request that you pass all your shoes over this mat, so would be a good idea to keep them easily accessible.

On the Zambian side of the river you will be required to walk a short distance from the transfer vehicle to the boat.
You will cross the Zambezi river in a speed boat (approximately 5 minutes) The general public and heavy commercial traffic cross the river on state operated ferries.
On the Botswana side of the river you will be transferred in an open 4×4 game viewing vehicle branded African Odyssey (do you want to specify “branded” in case of sub hires? to the Botswana immigration and customs hall. Every passenger is required to present themselves in person to the officials. Again scanning equipment will be encountered, however you may be required to complete manual declaration forms at either border should the computer systems be off line.
On the Botswana side you will be required to step on a treated mat for foot and mouth disease control. The officials may also request that you place all shoes in your position on this mat, so would be a good idea to keep them easily accessible

Wild Horizons Concierge Service is a private service aimed at providing guests with a personalised experience in Victoria Falls, Livingstone and Chobe. We have a pool of highly experienced guides who will take care of your guests itinerary from before they arrive in Victoria Falls.
The service includes pre-hotel checks, meet and greets, private guiding service and daily feedback to you, the agent, on each guests movements.
The concierge travels free of charge on all tours, cruises and transfers. They will accompany the guests to the various activities such as lion encounter, Heli flip etc. but will not physically partake in the activity – unless the activity is booked and paid for.
The concierge guide will be with the guests at collection from hotel, transfer with them to activity, be with them during intro, safety brief etc. and will wait for them at the activity site until they are completed the activity and will transfer back to town with them.
