Venturing into the unfenced 57 000 hectare (250 sq mile) Zambezi National Park, this walk is combined with a game drive to a suitable walking area of the park. Whilst following in the footsteps of elephants, guests can learn about a variety of aspects of the wildlife in the area, as the Professional Guide shares his/her knowledge and experiences with them. A walk through the bush in a great way to re-tune your senses and get a ground level experience of the park’s inhabitants, large or small.

Please note that the Zambezi National Park is only a five-minute drive from Victoria Falls town, so there are no lengthy transfers involved.

  • Duration: Approx. 4 hours from pickup to drop off
  • What to Wear:
    • Neutral-colored clothing (no bright colors)
    • Suitable walking shoes with thick soles (no sandals)
    • Long trousers are preferred, though shorts are acceptable
    • Long-sleeved shirts recommended, though sleeveless are acceptable
    • Hat and sunscreen/repellent as needed
  • Description: The Walking Safari Half Day offers a thrilling opportunity to experience the untamed Zambian bush on foot. Led by experienced guides and accompanied by an armed scout, guests can observe game in their natural habitat and take in the beauty of Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. The tour includes refreshments along the way and concludes with cold drinks upon return.
  • Includes:
    • Morning safari: The Walking Safari, light breakfast, tea/coffee, mineral waters
    • Afternoon safari: The Walking Safari, soft drinks, beers, mineral waters, snack platter
  • Excludes:
    • US$15 per person entry fee (this has to be paid directly by the clients upon entry to the national park)
  • Child Policy: No children under 16 years old on walking activities (special permission may be requested)
  • Additional Notes:
    • Minimum 2 participants required for confirmation
    • Private safaris available (rates on request)
    • Guests should be in good physical condition and able to walk at least 10 km (6.5 miles)
    • Please advise of any special dietary requirements in advance
    • Cancellation within 24 hours of departure incurs a 100% fee
